BEN BILO
MAPP
MAPP is the Maryland school of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. As a student pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Architecture, I will take a variety of courses designed to provide a holistic architectural education. Below, you can find examples of the work I have done so far.
SPRING 2022 PORTFOLIO
This portfolio is a compilation of some of my best work throughout the two years I've spent at the University of Maryland. I used this portfolio to apply to the Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree track at UMD, the results of which will be announced in June 2022.
LE CORBUSIER CHESS SET
The attached project is centered around the concept of precedent - the idea that architects learn from their predecessors. This portfolio represents a collection of design work used to develop chess pieces in the style of Le Corbusier. Le Corbusier was a Swiss-French architect who favored piloti (stilt-like supports) and horizontal windows. I started by studying one of his buildings and ended by applying his process to a knight and a rook.
FALL 2020
In this portfolio, I showcase some of the first work I did as an architecture student. The documents contains images of various sketches and diagrams I made to practice drawing skills that are essential tools of communication in architecture. The focus of this work is not perfection, but progress and process.
